Well, then install a small buffer so that your bumper or splitter is not damaged when you touch it lightly.
The front lip protector is mounted on the underside of the bumper using the plastic screws provided.
 
Why are we here?Plastic screws chosen?
So that we don't pull the bumper/splitter along with it in the event of strong contact, the plastic screws break. A metal screw would pull the bumper when touched.
